The CUIDAR Clinic
Many children will respond to the COPE intervention and will not need special services or interventions. For that reason, most families who participate in the CUIDAR for Attention and Learning Program will have their needs addressed by the end of the COPE group. However, for some children, additional services are needed.
If parents remain concerned about their child's development, even after learning and using more effective parenting skills, an evaluation in the program's CUIDAR Clinic may be helpful. The Clinic is designed to identify problems that could respond to early intervention and treatment. If needed, our staff will also work closely with the family's primary care physician and special education services of local school districts to help children continue their growth and development into their school-age years.
It is strongly recommended that parents attend the COPE program prior to seeking a clinic evaluation. However, in some cases, families in crisis or high risk situations may seek an earlier appointment. The CUIDAR Clinic also serves siblings of families who have participated in the COPE parenting classes.
The CUIDAR Clinic is currently located in Orange at 1915 W. Orangewood Avenue, Ste. 200 (second floor). For more information, or to schedule an appointment, please call Yvette Sanchez at 714-939-6118.
